Online Support Group for Women Over 40

Experiencing an Eating Disorder or Disordered Eating:

Next Steps

This ONLINE support group is for WOMEN (40+) with eating disorders, disordered eating, and/or experiencing anxiety around food, eating, and body image.

You DO NOT need proof of diagnosis to enrol.

This group is open to those with all manner of disordered eating behavior.

This support group is intended for those individuals that have previously attended an EDSNA support group.

About This Group

Because no one should have to face an eating disorder alone, this virtual, multi-week, professionally facilitated support group promotes self discovery in a safe space.

Why ‘next steps’ for women over 40?

  • Forming a community, and making connections with others, is noted on feedback forms as being especially important to people who register in EDSNA groups. ‘Next Steps’ helps preserve communities created in the entry-point Support Group for Women Over 40.
  • Participants come to EDSNA groups in different places in recovery. Previous attendance in other EDSNA groups brings together participants who have explored some core topics in the past.
  • ‘Next Steps’ is as continuation of the core ‘Support Group for Women Over 40’. Just started exploring a topic you want to go into in more detail? Do that here!
  • This group will provide a safe place for women to share their struggles, concerns, and successes with other women who really understand— find more support akin to what you experienced in the entry-point Support Group for Women Over 40.

PLEASE NOTE: This group is intended as support, and is not a substitute for treatment. We encourage you to speak with your Physician about treatment options specific to your circumstances.

Out of province registration: Unfortunately, this group is only open to current residents of Alberta.

EDSNA support groups are always:

  • Professionally-facilitated by people with extensive backgrounds in eating disorders.
  • Intended to support those wishing to continue on the path of recovery in a safe, nonjudgmental environment.
  • Limited to a small number of participants to allow everyone to participate fully.

Individuals interested in participating DO NOT require proof of diagnosis. This group is open to those with all manner of disordered eating behaviour.
