Nurturing Futures: Online support group for birthing Parents experiencing
an eating disorder or disordered eating
This ONLINE support group is for birthing parents (18+) experiencing an eating disorder, disordered eating,
and/or experiencing anxiety around food, eating, and body image.
You do not need proof of diagnosis to enroll.
This group is open to those with all manner of disordered eating behaviour.
About This Group
Join Registered Dietitian Emily Fentie in this 4-week online support group for birthing parents (any stage of pregnancy) that have experienced disordered eating and/or an eating disorder (new or pre-existing). Each week will be a mix of information, discussion and support.
This four week session will help you gain the knowledge to build your own toolbox to care for yourself while pregnant, and have the opportunity to interact and connect with others who are in the same stage of life.
PLEASE NOTE: This group is intended as support, and is not a substitute for treatment. We encourage you to speak with your Physician about treatment options specific to your circumstances.

EDSNA support groups are always:
- Professionally-facilitated by people with extensive backgrounds in eating disorders.
- Intended to support those wishing to continue on the path of recovery in a safe, nonjudgmental environment
- Limited to a small number of participants allow everyone to participate fully.
Individuals interested in participating DO NOT require proof of diagnosis. This group is open to those with all manner of disordered eating behaviour.

This group will meet for 4 weeks (Wednesdays)

This is a multi-week group. Registration for this series includes all four sessions.

Additional Information:
*A computer/laptop/tablet and internet access are required to participate. Please be sure to review your confirmation email carefully, and the information to download and use “Zoom”, as well as the “Guidelines for Groups” document will be in the email. The link to access the sessions will be sent closer to the start date of the group.
**EDSNA does not want financial barriers to stop a participant from attending a support group. Please email info@EDSNA.ca to discuss your circumstances, as we may be able to reduce your fees, or waive them entirely.
About Your Facilitator
Emily Fentie
Registered Dietitian
Emily is passionate about helping people heal from disordered eating and cultivate a peaceful relationship with food. She has been a Registered Dietitian for over five years, from working in both hospital and community settings, she has a deep understanding for the complexities of health. Emily supports eating disorder recovery, chronic dieters looking for an alternative to dieting, and helps those living with chronic illness navigate nutrition therapy in a weight-inclusive environment. She values her clients’ lived experiences with food and their body, and supports them to lead a life free of food rules to discover a sense of true well-being
