(YYC) Support Group for Caregivers

This support group is for ADULTS (18+) who are the parents, partners, siblings, friends, loved ones, and supporters of someone with an eating disorder or disordered eating.

Because no one should have to face supporting someone with an eating disorder alone, this professionally facilitated support group promotes self discovery in a safe space, and offers participants the opportunity to connect with other caregivers.
EDSNA support groups are always:
- Professionally-facilitated by people with extensive backgrounds in eating disorders.
- Intended to support to those wishing to support someone through their path to recovery in a safe, nonjudgmental environment
- Limited to a small number of participants allow everyone to participate fully.
We welcome parents, partners, siblings, extended family, friends.. anyone over the age of 18 who is supporting someone with an eating disorder.
Support Group Details
Date of session: Group will take place on WEDNESDAYS including the following dates..
- October 16, 23, 30
- November 6, 13, 20

Time: 6:30pm – 8:00pm (18:30 – 20:00 MST)
Cost: $60 for 1 person, $90 for 2 (online via Paypal)*

About your facilitator:
Karen Wadson, R.Psych
Karen is a registered psychologist in Calgary with over 10 years of counselling experience. She practices from a client centered approach, which views the client as the expert on their own life, and she draws interventions from psycho-dynamic, CBT, solution focused and narrative therapies to assist clients in making the changes they would like to have in their lives. Her particular area of specialization is in the area of disordered eating and body image. She holds advanced training in the treatment of eating disorders through the International Association of Eating Disorder Prevention (IAEDP).
