Attend this workshop to learn practical strategies to support your child!

Caring for a child with mental health concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and/or angry outbursts is very stressful, overwhelming, and terrifying for parents.

Often, parents blame themselves- they feel guilty, are afraid of making things worse, and are often unsure about what to say or do. This leaves parents feeling as though they are walking on eggshells, and often results in them doing just about anything to avoid another “blow up” with their child.

This two-day workshop based in Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) is an incredible and unique opportunity to learn skills that can assist you in what to say and what to do to support your child.

Participants will leave with the skills to:

  • Have a greater understanding of their loved one’s mental health struggle
  • Facilitate family-based support
  • Emotionally and behaviorally support their loved one
  • Process and overcome their fears and reactions
  • Repair patterns and triggers that may get in the way of effective support
  • Believe in their own ability to care for and support their loved one

Research has shown that after taking this workshop, and developing these skills, parents develop closer, warmer, and more compassionate relationships with their child. They also report a reduction in problematic symptoms.

**These skills are applicable for ALL families, regardless of the child’s age and/or readiness for change- this includes parents, spouses, family members, caregivers, adult children, and any other individuals who are supporting a loved one (whether or not they are accessing treatment).

That said, we are only able to include participants over 18 years of age.
