Tuesday, February 2nd
Kindness to Self:
A Meditation and Self-Care Workshop
Virtual: You know when you take a deep breath and then realize you weren’t really breathing before it? This event is that breath of awareness. Show yourself some loving kindness in this meditation and self-care workshop that will explore multiple avenues to self-care (even if you have to schedule it into your calendar!)
Length of workshop: 90 minutes
Thursday, February 4th
Embodi_ED
Virtual: Based on the principles of Embodiment, this workshop will help attendees recognize how the weaponization of bodies has encouraged us to disconnect from ourselves. Through a mix of personal stories, case studies, research, and professional experience, body-image expert Dr. Angela Grace will discuss aspects of weight bias, its intersectionality with social justice, and how our bodies interact with the world. Practical tips and strategies to address how we talk about bodies, and our body, will also be shared. Challenge existing body norms, strengthen the connection between your body and mind, and learn to see your body through your own eyes.
Length of workshop: 75 minutes (includes Q&A)
Saturday, February 6th
Ecstatic Dance
Virtual: Ecstatic dance is a facilitated free-flow movement practice that can support your spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual health. It empowers people of all genders, sizes, and backgrounds to freely express themselves.
This facilitated dance class will support you to connect with your body in a gentle and loving way, and move without inhibitions.
About the facilitator: Michelle is a passionate community organizer who believes in the healing potential of self-expression through movement, breath, music and storytelling. She is committed to creating inclusive spaces for people to deepen their connection to self, as well as one another, through creative arts
Length of workshop: 90 minute workshop, 10 minutes intros, 10 minutes cool down.

ALL MONTH
Evening of Hope:
Video Event

Virtual: In 2020 we recorded the amazing Evening of Hope as part of EDAW 2020.
The show featured professional and amateur artists and performers from across Calgary. These talented individuals came together to share original art, music, dance, and spoken word pieces to celebrate and raise awareness of hope & healing.
This year, we would like to invite you to experience the performances from the comfort of your home with the 2021 performer’s cut.
For the month of February, the Evening of Hope video will be available by donation.
Support Eating Disorders Awareness while celebrating local artists and performers!
