Join Us for a Virtual Workshop: Building Distress Tolerance Skills for Eating Disorder Recovery

Summer can bring unique challenges for those navigating eating disorders/disordered eating—changes in routine, body image pressures, and increased social events can all heighten stress. In this supportive virtual workshop, we’ll explore practical distress tolerance skills designed to help you manage emotions and maintain your recovery through the summer months.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Recognize early signs of distress and respond with intention
  • Use DBT-based tools like TIPP, self-soothing, distraction, and radical acceptance
  • Understand the difference between crisis survival vs. long-term emotion regulation
  • Practice compassionate self-validation instead of self-criticis
  • Ground yourself during moments of overwhelm
  • Cope with intense emotions or urges

Whether you’re currently in treatment, in recovery, or supporting a loved one, this session will provide tools rooted in compassion and evidence-based practices to help you feel more grounded, resilient, and prepared.

If you want to learn more about “building your toolbox” join us for another virtual workshop on July 17 as we shift our focus to proactive planning

PLEASE NOTE: This group is intended as support, and is not a substitute for treatment. We encourage you to speak with your Physician about treatment options specific to your circumstances.
