Online Drop-In Group for Caregivers

Topic C: Support Through Relapse & Ongoing Recovery

This online drop-in group is suitable for parents, partners, friends, siblings, loved ones, and supporters of anyone with eating disorders.

About This Group

Recovery from an eating disorder is often a non-linear process– triggers, relapse, and providing longterm support are some of the realities faced by many caregivers.

In this session, participants will learn:

  • Language that supports -and language that can hinder- recovery
  • How to manage triggers– what to say and what to do
  • How to recognize when their loved one may benefit from additional help
  • Tips when supporting a loved one further into recovery, and maintaining a relationship outside of the eating disorder
  • Suggestions for supporting yourself when caring  for a loved one

This group will also leave time and space for participants to bring their own topics for discussion– we encourage participants to bring questions.

NOTE: information provided is offered as general information, and is not meant to substitute for work with a care team supporting an individual or family’s unique circumstances. We will not be able to offer case-specific information.
